Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
