Major Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city endured significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
