Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
